4249 No.2 Side Road, west of Appleby Line. 1869. No.2 Side road stops at this white framed Zimmerman home. Back in the late 60's the road continued all the way down to the riverbanks of 12 Mile Creek.

Between the No.2 Side road and Twelve Mile Creek
are the remnants of at least two Zimmerman mills.
Drawing not to scale.

According to pioneer descendants living in the
area the ruins
in picture #1 were part of this
1910 Zimmerman Mill.

These foundation walls are all that is left of a structure measuring about 12 x 15 meters. The east, west and south walls are about 1.5 m. high. The north wall is about 3.00 m. high and is built into the old roadway coming down. In the centre is a large concrete pad with protruding steel bars. This picture shows the SW corner of the structure.

This steel race ( 91 cm. d.) and concrete arch are
all that is left from the second building.

The old channel from the mill (1) to 12 Mile Creek.
Appleby Line is in the background.

This massive concrete arch was part of a second mill building. The swale below the arch was the mill race.
The steel race is on the other side of the arch. We are facing Appleby line. 12 Mile Creek is behind us and to the left.
