Area Information
The Village of Hillside was established in 1905 as the "Hub of the Western Suburbs", Hillside is located near numerous transportation and business opportunities. As a developing community of over 8,100 residents, Hillside has become the "Metro Gateway". The Village prides itself on community aesthetics and values and works to attract and maintain businesses in the community.


Hillside is located in Proviso Township which is part of Cook County, Illinois.
One notable landmark in Hillside is the Mount Carmel Cemetery. On the grounds of the cemetery are the graves of a number of organized crime figures, such as Al Capone and Dion O'Bannion. A number of Bishops and Archbishops of the Archdiocese of Chicago are buried in the Bishop's Mausoleum at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Hillside is also the home and birthplace of the famous rap group Do or Die.
